Researchers are studying a 4,200 year old bird found preserved in the snow in Norway.
A warden for Statens Naturoppsyn discovered the redwing thrush in a snowbank in the Oppdal mountains.
The redwing was in good health when it died. It’s thought it was killed and buried by a fox or wolverine.
There is a video of the bird’s dissection in the lab on the NRK website. Some viewers may find it upsetting.
In Britain the RSPB gives red status to the redwing thrush, meaning that it is globally threatened.
